Experience a beautiful mixture of a blue open sky, the heating sun and colourful everyday-mayhem in Cyprus - and the well-structured cool Nordic shades framing life in Denmark.
Live music, documentary video projections and a mix of Danish and Cyprus dancers brings Pafos to Aarhus in this powerful and poetic performance, combining the crooked tact's of the Greek Zembekiko with the well-known streamlined waltz.

From Zembekiko to waltz...
The performance was created as a developing project between the two European Capitals of Culture 2017, Aarhus and Pafos. The first part was developed under the open sky on the streets of Pafos, Cyprus in May 2017 in a close co-operation between the dancers and DON GNU.
In fall 2017 the gigantic balance board was moved indoor to a dark black box in Aarhus, DK, as the team worked on the final Danish / Cypriot version, which premiered November 9th 2017.

The project was first presented as part of the official programme of European Capital of Culture 2017 - in co-operation with Dance House Lemesos from Cyprus and Bora Bora - Dans og Visuelt Teater from Denmark.
