SLINGER I VALSEN
A humorous, poetic and paradoxical performance about losing your footing and meeting yourself in the fall
A fat man and a thin man try to dance the waltz of life. DON-Hardy and GNU-Laurel. The curvy one and the slender one. The splashy one and the squeaky one. They try to keep the beat, but the tempo drags. They build ladders, knock them down again, trying to understand – and be understood.
Enter a mysterious stranger. A new pulse in a familiar pattern. A shape with multiple edges, multiple sides, multiple possibilities. It is not a solution, but an opening. Together, the three balance between anger and play, control and chaos, laughter and deep existential resonance.
In “Slinger i Valsen”, the physical poetry of slapstick meets today’s black and white worldview. Inspired by the aesthetics and rhythm of silent film, we investigate whether we in our color-saturated time have started to think more narrowly. With laughter as a bridge and the body as a language, the performance seeks the connection in the imperfect – where we no longer try to fit in, but just … are.
